What each term in the table header means:
Scammer Name: This is the name we believe is the real name of the scammer. This is deduced from the name given to the victim or the displayed name when the phone number is searched on Nigerian banks’ systems such as OPay, Palmpay, and Moniepoint.
Phone Number: The phone number reported by the victim to have been used by the scammer to perpetuate the fraud.
Bank Details: These are the account details provided by the scammer to the victim for payment.
Platform: Include all the channels of communication between the scammer and the victim. Sometimes, we may add other channels not used if there is enough evidence that the scammer is operating on other channels using the same scam format.
Summary of Scammers’ M.O.: A concise narration of what transpired between the victim and the scammer. M.O. simply means mode of operation. Watch out if similar tricks are being played on you.
How to spot hookup, SVC, and FWBs scams
Upfront t.fare
While it is not out of the norm for most hookup babes to demand upfront payment from their clients, many scammers leverage this. Only offer SVC
This is the easiest and most common online scam for people in search of an erotic experience, especially on Telegram. Scammers claiming to offer Sex Video Chats will demand that you make an upfront payment before offering their service. Although this is understandable, most of them are scammers. One way to find out is to ask if they offer hookup service and if you are interested. They will usually decline because, of course, how can a man explain showing up to a hookup meet where a lady is expected. Once you hear “I only do SVC, no hookup”, that is a cue; walk away.
